Brief

MBH previously had a full Office 365 subscription and a company SharePoint Online site. They wanted to update their sites home page, document management re-construction and additional security to the site and its content. The system would also be reliant on user permissions, these would allow certain users to control documents such as the company GDPR Policies in the document management system.

Dolphin Networks Solution

We started by reviewing their current intranet and coming up with some concept designs for their new home page. We sat down with the client and they selected which parts of the concepts they did and didn’t like so we could build them a final design. The new home page incudes feature such as company news, company location map, Twitter feed and the company policies. The old home page used an uneven grid layout filled with stock cartoons and an overpowering orange colour pallet. We created a less overpowering colour pallet that still fitted the company branding, we also created a layout that gave a more familiar user experience. We used a verity of coding languages to achieve this, JavaScript/Jquery, CSS, HTML, JSOM (Sharepoint Javascript object model), Highmaps.

We then moved onto reconfiguring the document management system. We added search tags to all documents on the system which has made searching for documents via the search bar much easier. We then reviewed the structure in which documents were organised and made recommendation as and changes to improve the user experience.
