The Microsoft Power Platform is a group of products offered by Microsoft to develop and build complex business solutions
Each product within the platform has their niche and can be used independently, however they also combine to offer a complete low code solution. A simple GUI can be used by any business users or developers, thus helping to reduce the need for IT in the organization.
The Power Platform enables you to automate processes, create applications and build reports that previously required weeks of development by your IT department. You can do this because there is very little code needed to develop solutions, you simply need to plug in your business knowledge.

What is the Dataverse?

While the Power Platform allows you to build solutions, you still need to store the data they create and the best way to do that is by using the Dataverse (formerly known as the Common Data Service, or CDS).
The Dataverse is a secure database hosted in Azure and prebuilt with a standard set of entities and record types as well as being fully customizable to your needs. Storing data in the Dataverse allows you to model data at the data level in addition to providing a secure, efficient and reliable platform.
The Power Platform also includes over 290 pre-built connectors allowing you to connect to a diverse range of sources such as Twitter through to ERP software such as SAP.
